Elevation Comparison. Again. Elbrus 2 vs. SBP Trishul

Hello again!  I have another Elevation comparison for you today.  I know, Elevation again?  I can't help it!  I love Lu's polishes. :)

Anyway, I had to show you this. Mainly, I wanted to show you a comparison of Elbrus 2 and SBP Trishul but I threw in These Boots Were...as Trishul reminded me of that polish.  So, on with it!

Pretty awesome line up of polishes, eh?  All gorgeous purples.  I'm such a purple lover, have I told you that yet?  No?  Yes, my favorite color is purple. <3

As youcan see, they are all very close.  As labeled, I have These Boots...on my thumb, Trishul on my pointer and ring, and Elbrus 2 on my middle and pinkie.  Trishul and These Boots...are different from Elbrus 2 in that they are more of a red-based purple where Elbrus 2 is more of a blue-based purple.  There is a shifting shimmer that seems to be the same in all three.  Also, Trishul seems to share some of the same copper iredesent glowy stuff that is in These Boots...

All three had lovely formula's but I was really loving Trishul as it has a thinner formula that is easier for me, personally, to control.  It definitely needed two coats as does These Boots..while Elbrus 2 is almost a one coater and had a thicker, but still managable, formula.

Elevation Shillin Stone Forest; Released vs the Proto version

Happy Sunday folks!  I hope that you've enjoyed your weekend so far and are relaxing some.  I went to a pig roast yeterday that my awesome sister in law hosted.  I have to say that woman is a wonder.  At the end of the night, not only were there smores but she had bought paper laterns to light.  It was an awesomely beautiful sight to behold as they floated away.

Anyway, last Elevation update (the 7th), some of us were initially sent the wrong version of Shillin Stone Forest.  Most received notification of the mistake before they even received their packages.  How is that for being on top of things?  Awesome, unparrelled service is what I say.

Well, now there are some questions on how the two compare.

Well, let's take a look, shall we?

As described by the Elevation Website, Shillin is "light gray (cool) with dark gray flake shimmer and low density holographic pigment".   As you can see, the released version (on the ring and pointer) is right on to the description given.  The proto that was sent in error is definitely of the same gray hue but has a blue shimmer or flake to it instead.  I think there may be some rainbow flake as well?  Mostly I see blue.  The holo is just a bit more prominent I think, only due to the color of the shimmer.

To be honest, I see why Lu intended the one with dark charcoal flakes to be the finished product.  It is definitely more striking and while the holo is present, it boosts the flakes and creates cohesion within the color, in my opinion.  What do you think?  I'm glad I have both but I'd have been happy with just he released version as well.

Random Takko's, No Shell Needed.

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I hope that your week is off to a great start.  To be honest, I wish I could say the same but it seems that Murphy (and his law) was right.  It can only get better right?  I will say that nail polish helps.  How you ask?  I find it very therapeutic to paint my nails.  It's my chance in the everyday hectic sludge that we call life to do something I enjoy.  It's also a very peaceful and soothing thing to do.  With four kids, it's interrupted most times, but I wouldn't change being called 'Mom' for silence.

On to the POLISH!!  Today I have a couple Takko Lacquer to share with you, courtesy of an amazing friend (who let me borrow them).  Now, I don't know about you but in my head, I always think Takko=Taco.  I'm wrong, I know I'm wrong but it will forever stay that way in my head.  Sorry Sheryl! <3  They are beautiful!!

For my first manicure (mani=manicure for those of you out there who aren't of Nail World) consists of Takko Marie Antoinette with Rainbow Honey's The Element of Magic and Hanami.

Gorgeous colors all by themselves, but you put them together and BAM!

Takko's Marie is a vibrant pale blue with gorgeous pink shimmer that stands out.  Rainbow Honey's Element of Magic is a glitter bomb of various purple glitter (some holo) with awesome blue and purple shimmer. I love them both separately but put them together and I DIE.  I also wore Hanami (a cherry blossom of a glitter topper) on my thumb with Element of Magic.

The last mani I have to show you is Elevation Polish's Falzarego (which was a small batch prototype, aka a SBP) with Takko's Get Lucky (a gold holo glitter) sponged on the tips.  I love this one too.

Elevation Polish AWZ #16, Mystery, and SBP Salcantay

Hello out there! Happy Monday!  I'm glad you decided to join me.  I've been working on several projects at once so it is nice to finally have this one up and running.

I love nail polish.  I find color soothing, exciting, and full of possibility.  It can trigger memories or reactions.  Colors mean something.  And my medium for enjoying them is nail polish.

Enough babble, yes?  Let's get to the goods. :)

Elevation Mystery Polish, SBP Salcantay, and sample AWZ #16.

Ah, I love all these colors.  They went well together.  And most of you out there know I'm a huge fan of Elevation as I've followed Lu from the beginning.  

The sample is a purple leaning taupe nude that I just love.  I can't get enough of these sorts of colors lately and this one was a gift from a super awesome and generous friend. Such a lovely application as well.  Self-leveling and one stinkin' coat.  Yes.  One.  <3  The Mystery (sold as a limited release over at Pahlish; there were only 20 or so bottles I think?) is packed full of gold micro flakes with blue/violet micro flakes.  Gorgeous and easy peasy to apply.  Smooth finish too, not chunky like other glitters.  Salcantay is a purple/blue glitter with green/blue iridescence in it.
